Hace unos dias en un blog de MSDN (sitio exclusivamente para desarrolladores de MS) se publico un articulo que habla sobre la próxima versión de Windows, allí se hablo de que la siguiente versión sera totalmente diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados y que cambiaría la forma de utilizar una PC. Además aclararon que la próxima versión no se llamara “Windows 8″ como se decia en la web, por ahora solo Windows.next como nombre inicial.

Misteriosamente el articulo fue borrado por la gente de Microsoft, al parecer no querían que el mundo se enterara tan pronto de la noticia. El articulo por el momento quedo almacenado en la cache de Google, por si desaparece se los dejo a continuación:

Whats in store for the next Windows?

One of the great (or maybe not so great) things of being at Microsoft is that every other person wants to ask you why Windows works the way it does. Since I’m part of the Windows update team I get asked even more why does my machnie reboot everytime there is an update and why are there so many updates. So naturally once Windows 7 shipped, my friends, neighbours, relatives, and whoever else you can imagine started asking me So whats next?

Folks started asking me whats in Windows 8 – and the first thing I have to say is that I resonate Steven Sinofsky’s interview on who said we’re calling it Windows 8? I agree with Steven that till things are baked there is no point floating ideas since it leaves people frustrated when things don’t turn out the way they expected. The Windows team promised to deliver a smarter, faster and more user friendly OS with Windows 7 and they delivered just that – the latest quaterly results of Microsoft are a clear indication that Windows 7 has been a success and customers got what Microsoft had promised them! The plan is to use a similar approach for the next version of Windows and till things are finalized you’re not going to get a “marketing” name from us

So how am I referring to the next version of Windows without saying that many words – well simple – Windows.next This is definitely not the official version but a version that is becoming common along my circle. So what are our plans for this next version…

The minimum that folks can take for granted is that the next version will be something completly different from what folks usually expect of Windows - I am simply impressed with the process that Steven has setup to listen to our customers needs and wants and get a team together than can make it happen. To actually bring together dozens and dozens of teams across Microsoft to come up with a vision for Windows.next is a process that is surreal! The themes that have been floated truly reflect what people have been looking for years and it will change the way people think about PCs and the way they use them. It is the future of PCs…

Thats about it for this post for the time being – I know I’m not sharing much at this point but right now I can’t as we work towards finalizing that vision. Feel free to post your comments on what you think Windows.net should be like!

En fin ya conoceremos mas detalles en un futuro no muy lejano

Aunque te parezca mentira entre cientos y cientos de Bill Gates que hay en la red social Facebook se encontraba el original Bill Gates. Pero de ahora en mas todos los que hay son cuentas truchas ya que el “tío Billy” a decidido cancelar su cuenta en Facebook por que según el esa red social no hace mas que causarle problemas.

(Esta captura me causa mucha gracia)

Bill Gates dice que se retira de Facebook por “exceso de amigos”, dijo que tenia mas de 10.000 personas para agregarla como amigo y que día a día esa cifra iba aumentando. Por tal motivo, cancelo su cuenta para no tener molestias de este tipo.

Una noticia no importante, pero que suma.

Anteriormente Microsoft había dicho que no habría Release Candidate 2 (RC2) en Windows 7, pero al parecer han cambiado de opinión ya que en el día de hoy un betatester muy allegado a Microsoft me envió a mi correo estas dos capturas:

Como se puede ver en las capturas, se trata del setup.exe de la build 7225, la RC2 de Windows 7.

Esperemos que al menos se filtren mas capturas.

En el día de hoy Microsoft liberó a Windows 7 Release Candidate para su descarga directa, este esta disponible en varios idiomas (Español, Ingles, Alemán, Chino, Francés) y también esta disponible para plataformas de 32bits y 64bits.

Los requerimientos mínimos para instalar Windows 7 RC son los siguientes:

• Procesador de 1 GHz de 32 bits o 64 bits o superior
• 1 GB de memoria del sistema o más
• 16 GB de espacio disponible en disco
• Compatibilidad con gráficos DirectX 9 con 128 MB de memoria (para habilitar el Aero)
• Unidad de DVD-R/W

Descargar Windows 7 RC desde Microsoft

En esta Release Candidate se solucionaron muchos errores desde la Beta publica (build 7000) y como era de esperar, es mucho mas veloz que la anterior.

Después de un largo tiempo, mi amigo betatester se volvió a comunicar con migo para ofrecerme algo que realmente no esperaba, capturas de pantalla de Windows 7 build 7057, y lo mas emocionante de todo es que esta build ya esta disponible en Español. A continuación las capturas:

Esta build 7057 fue compilada el 5 de Marzo a las 20:00 horas, y se trata de la ultima build entregada a los betatesters, o al menos esta es la ultima build que le entregaron a este betatester.

Pablo Augusto es el nombre del betatester que me envía las capturas de pantalla de Windows 7 build 7052 por medio del formulario de contacto del blog. En esta ocasión, son capturas de Windows 7 corriendo en VirtualBox, a continuación las capturas del mismo:

Esta build 7052 fue compilada el 25 de Febrero, a las 16:40 horas. No se si hay una build mas reciente, pero yo creo que si ya que desde la creación de esta build 7052 pasaron 12 días.
